The Valley community and school, located near the border of Liberia and Guinea, was trapped in a vicious water crisis. The only water source available to the students was a hand-dug well that required using a jerry can and rope to collect water. Students repeatedly tossed the container into the borehole and hoisted up small amounts of unsafe water.
