World Water Day is next week–Mark your calendars for March 22!
World Water Day sheds light on the critical importance of freshwater, including safe water access, water scarcity, pollution, and the resulting impact on communities worldwide. It’s a platform to advocate for the sustainable management of this precious resource and raise awareness about the water crisis affecting 703 million people.
Not surprisingly, this global observance established by the United Nations holds high relevance to multiple aspects of our work at Living Water. In alignment with our efforts to empower the overlooked, March 22 carves out a space to increase stakeholder understanding of how our staff, the Church, and global neighbors combat the water crisis daily, contributing to community-wide holistic flourishing through collective action.
As Living Water staff, World Water Day reminds us of the pressing need across the 17 countries where we work. It presents an opportunity to zoom out from our to-do lists and reflect on the weight of this mission–and the relief that we’re not in this alone! In so doing, World Water Day amplifies our commitment to addressing water-related challenges and transforming lives through sustainable initiatives. It’s a day for us to fill our cups! (Pun intended)
World Water Day encourages collaboration among governments, organizations, communities, and individuals to tackle water-related issues collectively. This emphasis on a collective solution aligns with Living Water’s Theory of Change and with the ethos of our Every Drop community, who donate monthly to sustain positive change in the face of the water crisis.
This synergy led the M&C department to leverage this World Water Day by focusing our Spring Campaign on encouraging staff & supporters to join Every Drop or increase their current monthly gift–rather than asking for a one-time donation, which was the focus of past campaigns. The power behind promoting Every Drop is engaging our donors in consistent collective action that triggers positive transformation, fostering the potential for deeper engagement and longer retention.
Through Every Drop, you’re not just giving once; you’re providing ongoing, dependable support that empowers us to plan, innovate, and concentrate on creating real, sustainable change. Plus, you experience the fulfillment of being part of a community dedicated to making a difference every single day!
- Every Drop Breaks the Cycle of Poverty. Every Drop signifies more than just water; it is a powerful way to break the cycle of poverty for those without access to safe water.
- Every Drop is Transformation. Every Drop is a catalyst for transformation, not only in terms of health but also in empowering communities to thrive.
- Every Drop Ends a Long Walk. Access to clean water ends long, arduous journeys that many undertake to secure this essential resource.
- Every Drop Marks a New Beginning. Every Drop represents a fresh start, promising improved health, increased opportunities, and a brighter future.

In closing, a powerful reminder: word of mouth is the most effective marketing tool. This week, we invite you to leverage this global platform by promoting Every Drop within your networks as a sustainable, collective solution to the water crisis!
