Living Water International is more than a nonprofit organization, it’s a daily, collective effort to honor the Lord by serving his people well in everything that we do. While serving our neighbors well has always been a driving force behind our work, throughout Overflow 25 a heightened focus arose on how to emerge from the global pandemic stronger to holistically impact 1 million people per year, while communicating that impact to our supporters and global staff in the most clear and engaging way possible–sustaining momentum toward fulfilling the Great Commission and ensuring access to basic WASH services for all (SDG6).
During this past February’s First Monday presentation, senior team members spent some time updating us on Guiding Position 2: Implement holistic WASH programs for all–reaching the marginalized with sustainable solutions. Specifically, they discussed our progress toward achieving SO2, to grow to serve 1 million people annually through our WASH programs within our WPAs. A key highlight of this enriching presentation was explaining our new annual estimate methodology for communicating the impact of our WPAs, and the opportunity it represents for the M&C department to ideate creative, engaging, and easily understandable ways to explain this methodology to both our team and supporters. M&C staff concluded that a feature within the Connection experience on our website would be a great launching pad!
Connection’s new three-part audio series, Serving Well, will let listeners into the journey, strategy, and guiding beliefs behind what it means to serve at Living Water, whom we serve, how we serve them, why we do it in this way, and our new way of communicating this number of people served. By featuring speakers from different regions, departments, and seasons in this ever-evolving adventure, Serving Well aims to provide a well-rounded and engaging look into the inner workings of Living Water as it relates to SO2: People Served. Each episode will be a featured webpage within www.water.cc/connection that is emailed to our Connection subscribers at the end of the month and announced to staff via Wellspring. Stay tuned!
Just as every compelling story unfolds with a beginning, middle, and end, Serving Well follows suit! By providing historical, organizational, and spiritual context through a lively narrative, this audio series will leverage our staff’s lived experiences to walk you through the reason we partner with the Church to serve the overlooked and excluded, the journey to serving them through WPAs, and that of discerning how to gauge the ripple effect of our collective impact, as well as, ultimately, the prospect of communicating this impact well to our team and supporters around the globe.
