Living Water Uganda embarked on a journey to transform 2,700 lives in the Malongo sub-county of the Mayuge District with safe and clean water. It all began when the Living Water Uganda team approached the Mayuge District’s local government and proposed an upgrade of the Malongo North borehole.
This borehole was originally drilled in 2002 by the Mayuge District’s local government. It was the only safe water source for hundreds of households in the Malongo North, Malongo B, and Malongo Upper communities.
Living Water Uganda, in collaboration with the Mayuge District’s local government, upgraded the Malongo North borehole to a new Solar-powered Water System! As you can see in the photos below, community members of all ages were mobilized to dig trenches for water pipes.
This is an impactful testimony of the power behind partnering with local agents and empowering community members to bring about their transformation.
