The residents of the Kitobor community in Kenya suffered from an array of challenges brought on by the water crisis. The dry landscape, subject to frequent drought, made even surface water collection a challenge. Often, without the financial means to purchase water from local vendors, some community members would rely on exposed hand-dug wells and rainwater for their daily water needs, from drinking to bathing, cooking, and washing.
