The residents of Rwanda’s Kajevuba community battled a complex scarcity crisis. The piped water system in their community failed to meet the water demands of Kajevuba’s growing population—a kiosk with only two taps located about half a mile from residents’ homes. Athanase Nzabirinda, a 43-year-old farmer, shared: “This has been especially hard for children, who often miss school or arrive late because of the time spent fetching water.” [read more]
