The residents of Las Cabezas faced an ongoing crisis of water scarcity and inadequate sanitation. Mila Cristina, a 57-year-old teacher and school principal, shared: “Our community—and especially our school—faced a severe water shortage. At school, we only hadwater access every 15 or 20 days, depending on factors like the economic situation. We had to buy water because the community well couldn’t meet the needs of the homes or the school.” [read more]
